About the Role:

We are seeking candidates who are interested in joining the Westhaven talent pool for Team Leader within our Intensive Therapeutic Care Team for Children and Young Persons with Significant Disability (ITC-SD).

This is a great opportunity for you to be considered for Team Leader roles that may come up in Westhaven over the next 6 months. Ongoing and temporary employment opportunities may be offered. This talent pool is to be used for positions located in Dubbo, NSW.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily operations of support services, including the supervision and support to Support Workers
  • Provide direct assistance and support to child and young persons, and or adults with a disability.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders including clients, families and guardians.
  • Undertake rostering of Support Workers
  • Undertake administrative duties including but not limited implementation, review and maintenance of individual service agreements.
  • Provide On Call Services as required.

Essential Criteria:

  • Minimum degree or diploma in Community Services, Youth Work or similar, or equivalent experience working with children and people and their families in a community services environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership, coaching and team management skills.
  • Strong understanding of trauma and its impact on the development and behaviour of children and young people.
  • Demonstrated ability to be adaptable to changing circumstances and organisational requirements, and contribute to the needs of a rapidly expanding service.
  • Experience or knowledge of the Children's Guardian accreditation process and NSW Statutory Out of Home Care Standards.
  • High level of written, verbal and computer-based communication skills, including high level negotiation skills.
  • Current Driver's licence
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Current Working with Children Check and a Criminal Records Check obtained within the last 6 months.
  • Completion of the 'NDIS Worker Orientation Module" https://training.ndiscommission.gov.au/login/index.php

Holding a current Working with Children Check and completing a National Criminal History Record Check clearance are requirements of this position.
