We are currently seeking a Full Time In Home Support and Community Participation Team Leader to join our team at Broken Hill.

You will provide direct support to individuals with a disability, assisting them to achieve their personal goals and aspirations through centre and community based activities. This may include activities out of business hours. 

The Team Leader, In Home Support and Community Participation will report to the Service Manager - Community.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Implement strategies and directions identified through personal plans.
  • Coordinate the development of programs to build local leadership and develop the capacity of the community to actively engage in a wide range of activities.
  • Complete online client management reports and other administration tasks.
  • Develop and support the development of partnerships to strengthen the offering to our participants.
  • To support, supervise, review the performance of support workers in your team.
  • Undertake rostering of support workers.


The Successful applicant will have: 

  • Certificate IV in Disability Services desirable or other qualification or experience in the area of disability services
  • Demonstrated experience leading and supporting a team of professionals with diverse expertise and capabilities
  • Proactive approach in supporting individuals with a disability.
  • Extensive experience working with people with complex support needs.
  • Extensive experience in person centred planning and approaches.
  • Extensive experience supporting people within a positive behaviour support context.
  • Strong teamwork focus.
  • Sound administration skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to confidently apply de-escalation strategies in high conflict situations.
  • Computer skills including intermediate Google Suite.
  • Driver's Licence valid in Australia. 
  • Current First Aid Certificate.
  • Completion of  the 'NDIS Worker Orientation Module" www.https://training.ndiscommission.gov.au/ 


Holding a current Working with Children Check and completing a National Criminal History Record Check clearance are requirements of this position.
